This heritage is now being continued with the MB3600-PH, a versatile Fourier transform near-infrared (FT-NIR) benchtop analyzer that can be fitted with a variety of accessories for accurate measurements on a broad range of applications in the pharmaceutical and life science industries. It is the optimal solution for applications such as:

– Laboratory QA/QC analysis
– Raw material identification and qualification
– Research and development
– NIR method development
– At-line PAT measurements

The MB3600-PH analyser can be used as a benchtop instrument (QA/QC or research laboratory) but also as a mobile unit on a stainless steel movable cart - with an uninterrupted power supply option - for applications in the warehouse or dispensary (raw material identification and qualification) and for at-line PAT applications.

FTPA2000-260 on-line FT-NIR solutions

Multi-point FT-NIR analyzer designed for remote, real-time monitoring of continuous and batch processes in pharmaceutical and life sciences industries.

The FTPA2000-260PH is a multi-point FT-NIR analyzer designed for remote, real-time monitoring of continuous and batch processes in pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. This versatile analyzer is fully validatable and allows to develop methods for monitoring of product Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs). It is also the ideal solution for implementation of process analytical technology (PAT) in manufacturing environment, as part of Quality by Design (QbD) initiatives. The instrument can be located in a general purpose area or in a cabinet supplied by ABB and certified for hazardous area

FTPA2000 new branding 7201

Some of the main features of the FTPA2000-260PH are:
  • Multi-channel capability (up to 8 channels)
  • Possibility to monitor several properties or CQAs simultaneously
  • Remote analysis with fiber optics (up to 80m for solids and 300m for liquids)
  • Fully unattended and automated operations driven by ABB process control software FTSW
  • On-the-fly diagnostics on instrument and process status
  • Real-time connectivity to plant IT and control systems (OPC, Modbus or 4-20mA)
  • Protection of electronic records as per FDA’s CFR21 P11 requirements
  • Flexible sampling (cells/probes, reflection/transmission)
  • All accessories can be used in EX-rated environment

ABB guarantees transferability of methods between its instruments. Any part of the FTPA2000-260PH system can be serviced or replaced without having to modify the method and with no loss of accuracy, even the fiber optic cables and sampling systems. This is due to the ultra-high precision manufacturing methods used and the extreme stability of the laser controlled spectral encoding process. As a result, the absorbance reproducibility between units approaches the instrument repeatability on single unit.

Flexible sampling
The use of fiber optic cables permits to locate the analyzer in any general-purpose area, isolated from hazardous materials and environments, thus significantly reducing civil engineering costs. The FTPA2000-260PH makes use of this advantage to add flexibility in implementation.

The FTPA2000-260PH includes a multi-detector module and has ample throughput to simultaneously illuminate several fiber optic bundles. Signals from the detector’s module are electronically multiplexed and use non-moving parts. This provides outstanding repeatability and allows a single analyzer to continuously monitor up to eight different sampling points without suffering from the performance and reliability issues traditionally associated with opto-mechanical multiplexers.

Pharma-ID

Palmsized Raman spectroscopy

From US based DeltaNU we are presenting the Pharma-ID handheld Raman system. The Pharma-ID is the smallest, lightest and most affordable solution for Raman rapid identification for the pharmaceutical industry.

pharma 005

By moving analysis out of the lab to the point of need - the warehouse - raw material testing costs can be greatly reduced, 100% inspection becomes possible and product quality assured. Pharma-ID identifies and validates excipients and APIs against an on-board library in seconds, wherever testing is needed.

The rugged design, clear LED display and push button control makes Pharma-ID suitable for the busiest operations. Based on proven Raman technology, the highly accurate device enables rapid library development; often only a single spectrum is required per material. This allows quick and easy implementation into any cGMP environment.

Analysis most types of products

Pharma-ID can be equipped with different types of measurement tips, which enables the measurement of most types of products, e.g. liquids, powders, solids and gels.

The optional pre-build library, the intergrated data management via USB and the optional bluetooth barcode scanner makes the Pharma-ID both powerful and easy to use.

MB-Rx

In-Situ Reaction Monitor

In-situ reaction monitoring is an essential step in the chemical synthesis
process. Intended for laboratories and pilot plants, the MB-Rx Reaction
Monitor provides chemists with direct access to real-time experiment data
via a rugged insertion probe and an intuitive software interface.

MB-PX picture with PC

The MB-Rx is designed around the key concepts of analytical performance,
reliability and simplicity. It is a plug-and-play solution that can be used at
any time without requiring any consumables or maintenance!

This robust analytical solution provides real-time insight into reaction
monitoring for various processes in chemical and biotechnology applications.
The MB-Rx enables R&D and process development teams to look into the
progress of chemical reactions as they happen. Chemical reaction in a flow or
batch reactor requires a fast and efficient method to measure the
consumption of reactants as well as the formation of products and by-products
in order to optimize an industrial process in the shortest time possible.

With its reduced footprint, the MB-Rx can be used inside crowded fumehoods,
providing convenient access to reactors. Its optics are non-hygroscopic, and do
not require desiccant cartridges. For additional ease of use, the MB-Rx
operates with a room-temperature detector, so that users do not have to
worry about nitrogen supply for cryogenically cooled detectors or regular
refurbishment constraints associated with Stirling cooled detectors. All key
spectral and chemical properties are trended in real time, and the ergonomic
software interface allows for rapid set-up of new experiment templates.

The aluminium casting of the MB-Rx provides the level of
protection required for intensive use in an industrial environment. It also
features permanently aligned optics and a light source that has an average
lifespan of 10 years, which means that the instrument is virtually
maintenance-free.

For additional serenity, users can rely on the
built-in health monitoring checks that run continuously while the MB-Rx
is in operation, because we believe that chemists should focus their attention
on the reaction itself, rather than the measurement interface.
