In close cooperation with the ACABS group at AAUE Q-Interline has defined and launched a new award: The Q-Interline Sampling Award. The full details of the award are available under news.
The first award winner will be announced at the SSC9 conference in Iceland tonight Wednesday 24th.

Q-Interline Sampling Award – Inauguration: 2005
The Q-Interline Sampling Award gives recognition to an outstanding and illustrative achievement concerning fast analytical methods with critical consideration to the Theory of Sampling (TOS) - or for performing critical, correct sampling in the area of Process Analytical Technologies (PAT). The award can be given either for fundamental studies, for research & development or for industrial implementation.

The Q-Interline Sampling Award can be presented either to an individual or to a group.

Stipulation

The PAT-method involved has to be based on analytical spectroscopy (IR-, NIR-, VIS-, UV-, acoustic spectroscopy, other).

Eligibility
Anyone working with Process Analytical Technologies (PAT), Process Analytical Chemometrics (PAC) or fast spectroscopic methods, whether at university or associated with industry, and whose work fulfils the award criteria, can receive the award (members of the award committee and employees at Q-Interline excluded).

The award
The award consists of a travel stipend, worth 25.000 DKK in fixed prices, to be used for conference attendance outside the Nordic countries. Award recipients are obligated to present a lecture or contribute with a poster at an international chemometrics, PAT, sampling or analytical chemical conference that will contribute towards further disseminating the Theory of Sampling in the form of correct sampling as a central part of analytical chemistry, chemometrics, PAT, industrial process control or similar.

Scientific award committee
The scientific committee decides who will receive the award. The committee can solicit award nominees publicly, may search for nominees at relevant conferences or may select nominees at its own discretion. The committee consists of three members who after five years are obligated to appoint successors. Chairman of the committee 2005-2009 is Professor Kim Esbensen, ACABS, University of Aalborg, Esbjerg.

Award Ceremony
The award will be presented once every year, commencing in 2005, either at a Scandinavian Chemometrics Conference (SSC), a NIR/PAT/analytical chemistry/sampling conference selected by the committee.
