This is due to the fact that although the traditional NIR laboratory gives an optimisation effect, it still requires sampling which in turn requires human resources. With Online NIR, chemical analysis becomes flashing red digits, which are typically updated every minute.
It is now possible to directly control the process against the background of FT-NIR and not only to monitor it.
Base FT-NIR spectrometers for on-line use with automation software are standard parts. The challenge with Online NIR lies in choosing the right interface for the process to ensure that light and product can meet.
